CONE BEAM 3D IMAGING
Physicians have relied on computerized axial tomography scans (CAT) for years. Today, our dental expert team relies on 3D imaging scans to provide the doctors with a detailed view of the mouth and skull. 3D scans are quick and straightforward to perform. A Cone Beam Imaging System is at the heart of the 3D scanner. The cone beams are used to take literally hundreds of pictures of the face to compile an exact 3D image of the face and jaw's inner mechanisms. The doctor can zoom in on specific areas and view them from alternate angles.
TRIOS 3 Shape DIGITAL IMPRESSION SCANNERS
Our Trios 3 Shape Digital Impression Scanners make the process of taking impressions faster, easier, and more accurate. The process consists of a scan with a wand that allows us to highlight relevant areas sent to the lab for abutment and crown preparation.
The Trios 3 Shape Digital Impression Scanners provide a more realistic scan experience in which we can better evaluate clinical situations through the use of natural colors and high definition photos. These features allow for better case documentation that we can quickly relay to our patients.
These scanners are used throughout our office and allow us to treat more patients, more effectively; with improved care. Our protocol can eliminate additional appointments that would usually be necessary, which helps remove the hassle and stress from patients having to rearrange their busy schedules. Moreover, patients will not gag on traditional impression materials!
LANAP Laser Treatment
Periodontist Dr. Sam R. Morhaim at Great Neck Dental Associates is one of the first in the area to offer the FDA-cleared laser treatment called the LANAP protocol. LANAP provides a less painful, more successful treatment alternative to conventional surgery to treat periodontal (gum) disease and saves many teeth that were previously considered hopeless. Unlike traditional surgery that requires cutting and stitches, laser light gently removes harmful bacteria and diseased tissue from the gum pocket. The LANAP treatment allows the body to heal naturally so that gum pockets improve and the teeth become more stable.
