Specialist In Periodontics With Expertise in Implantology
A senior partner at Great Neck & Mid-Island Dental Associates, Dr. Morhaim is a periodontal surgeon with a primary expertise in implant dentistry. In addition to his work at Great Neck & Mid-Island Dental, he was the Clinical Director of the Flushing Hospital Medical Center, an affiliate of New York University Hospital.
He earned his DDS from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine where he received numerous honors including the American Association of Endodontics Award, the Academy of Dentistry for the Disabled Award, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Award. Dr Morhaim’s ties to his alma mater remain strong; he served as the elected chairman of the mentorship committee for the student alumni association. He also co-published a paper on endodontic therapy performed by dental students and led the student outreach program to increase dental awareness in the local community.
Upon graduation from dental school in 1990, he accepted a general practice residency position at the Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then went on to complete his specialty training at Boston University School of Post-Doctoral Periodontics and Oral Biology where he graduated with honors and became a “Fellow” of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Presently he is a Diplomat of the same Dental Implant organization, which is the highest honor bestowed upon an active member and a feat that only 4% of its members achieve. He is also one of the first to be designated with the title of certified LANAP clinician in Nausau County, Long Island.
Dr. Morhaim is also a published author of the children’s book, “Where Are All My Toys? “. Along with Dr. Morhaim’s passion for dentistry, he is also passionate about writing and telling stories that will truly impact his readers. He has been recognized in articles about his book and personal family story in Newsday and other news sites and magazines. Dr. Morhaim has also received recognition from the President for his writing and personal story! A Brooklyn native, when not practicing dentistry or attending professional obligations, Dr. Morhaim spends most of his time outside bike riding and kayaking with his family. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
